Crude Oil Tank Cleaning Chemicals That Suppress the Vapor While They Clean.

Hasten Cleanse is a water-based concentrate for cleaning crude oil storage tanks: it breaks the bond between crude residue and steel, lifts the sludge into a water suspension your vac truck can handle, and knocks down LEL and VOC readings at the same time. No flash point, no solvent smell, no hazardous wash water.

One product, both jobs. Cleans the residue and suppresses the vapor. Crews are not waiting on a separate degassing step before they can work.
Dilute on site. 1:10 for heavy bottoms, 1:20 for typical crude residue, 1:50 for light film. Hot circulation at 140 to 160 degrees speeds it up.

How It Cleans a Crude Tank

Solvent cleaners dissolve crude into a flammable mixture you then have to dispose of as hazardous waste. Hasten Cleanse takes a different route.

1

Penetrates the bond

Surfactants get between the crude and the steel and break the adhesion, without turning the residue into a flammable liquid.

2

Suspends it in water

Residue comes off as microscopic droplets suspended in the wash water, which pumps, moves, and separates like water instead of like oil.

3

Suppresses the vapor

Bonding to the hydrocarbon raises its flash point and slows vaporization, so LEL and VOC readings fall while the wash is running.

4

Feeds the treatment plant

The fatty-acid base is food for the microbes in your wastewater system. Wash water is non-hazardous and does not upset the biology.

Applying It in a Storage Tank

Assess residue depth and product type; choose dilution, 1:10 to 1:50.
Apply diluted concentrate by spray nozzles or circulation pumps. Hot water, 140 to 160 degrees, is best on crude.
Let it work; monitor LEL as vapor readings drop.
Remove the suspended residue and wash water with standard vac equipment.
Dispose of wash water as non-hazardous; confirm with your facility's permit.

What Hasten Cleanse does not do

It is not a solvent and not a caustic. It will not dissolve, melt, or strip material that is physically bonded or baked onto a surface: scale, rust, hardened deposits, coatings. It lifts hydrocarbons, oil, grease, crude, sludge, and paraffin, by emulsifying them, and it needs agitation, circulation, pressure, or heat to do that work. If your problem is a stuck-on solid rather than a hydrocarbon film or residue, tell us and we will say so.

Packaging, Shipping, and the Concentrate Math

Every drum is concentrate. Compare products on working gallons, not on the drum.

A 55-gallon drum at 1:20 makes about 1,155 gallons of working solution. The same drum of a product that runs 1:10 makes about 605. That is the whole comparison, and we will run it against whatever you use now on a side-by-side demo.

No added bacteriaNothing in the pail is alive. Hasten Cleanse feeds the microbes you already have, in a treatment plant, a separator, or the soil, instead of competing with them.
Full concentrateSold as concentrate and diluted on site, 1:10 for heavy residue to 1:50 for light. Compare products by working gallons per drum, not by the drum.

Crude Tank Cleaning Questions, Answered Straight

Is Hasten Cleanse flammable?

No. It is water-based with no flash point. Solvent-based tank cleaners typically flash between 100 and 140 degrees.

What dilution do I use on crude bottoms?

1:10 for heavy sludge, 1:20 for typical residue, 1:50 for a light film. Heat helps; 140 to 160 degrees is the sweet spot on crude.

Does it remove hardened scale or rust?

No. It lifts hydrocarbon residue. It is not a solvent or a caustic and it will not strip material that is physically bonded to the steel.

Does it handle sour crude residue?

Yes, including iron sulfide deposits. Standard pyrophoric precautions still apply.

How does it ship?

Non-hazardous standard freight, no placards. 5-gallon pails, 55-gallon drums, 275-gallon totes, or bulk. Gulf Coast delivery in one to two days.
